Coffee over the years has been criticized for stunting growth or causing heart problems. However through those years, many doctors have been proving the critics wrong & showing us coffee drinkers that there is some good in having a second or third cup!
Harvard Health Publications research found that drinking coffee helps prevent a risk for high blood pressure, cancer, high cholesterol, and Parkinson’s disease. Through research, coffee drinkers were 50% less likely to get liver cancers. And also found signs that suggested lower rates of colon, breast and rectal cancers. Coffee also contains chemicals that lower blood sugar, because of this, coffee drinkers lower the risk of diabetes.
Coffee can prevent many different diseases, but can make people overall healthier. According to Runner’s World, drinking coffee can help improve one’s mood. A National Institutes of Heath study, says those who drink four cups of coffee or more daily are about 10% less likely to be depressed. Finally coffee can help relieve stress. Just smelling coffee can put one in a better mood! Coffee contains aroma compounds that affect mood.
For many people, they drink coffee every morning for that extra energy boost or the taste. Most do not think of the health benefits, but now knowing that that cup of coffee has an added bonus, it makes us enjoy it much more!
