The Buena Vida Coffee Mission: spreading the good life one coffee bag at a time
Buena Vida Coffee was created for three reasons: to deliver delicious fair trade
and organic coffee to our clients, to sustain coffee farming in developing countries,
and most importantly, to help support the Socidedad Amigos de los Niños orphanage in Honduras.
The Socidedad Amigos de los Niños orphanage is at the center of every Buena Vida Coffee business decision. The children are the motivating factor behind each new venture the team of nine students pursues, whether it is increasing communications with clients, brainstorming ways to increase sales, or spreading general awareness of a socially responsible
Buena Vida Coffee’s core values lie in spreading the good life across the globe. That is why in August of 2012 BVC launched the “one meal, one child” campaign. For each bag of coffee sold, one meal is provided to one child at the orphanage in Honduras. This year alone, Buena Vida Coffee has accumulated enough sales to provide 632 meals, with hopes of reaching 2,000 meals by the beginning of May.
When you purchase a bag of Buena Vida Coffee, your money is going far beyond our online ordering portal. Your purchase is contributing to a father being able to put food on his family’s table; it’s providing energy for children to run and play; it’s the reason the Socidedad Amigos de los Ninos orphanage can afford to teach uneducated children how to support themselves; it’s helping to pay coffee farmers proper wages; and it helps to feed children who don’t quite have an understanding of why the world is the way it is.
